EFFORTLESS POWER
The 2024 DSR is a totally new type of motorcycle. The DSR brings the pedigree of the world’s most capable electric dual sport motorcycles with capabilities that have never been seen on or off the road. Available stock as an A2 licensed machine, the DSR comes with an impressive 170 N-m of torque and 52 kW of power. The DSR is also upgradable via a dealer installed firmware update that turns it into an even more capable A3 licensed machine provided you meet the updated licensing requirements. The A3 DSR delivers even more exhilarating rides and produces 195 N-m of torque and 60 kW of power. Regardless of which rendition of the DSR you ride, it has entirely improved capabilities over its previous version thanks to a new battery, a whole new style, and a brand-new motor. All of this plus the award-winning Cypher III+ operating system means that the DSR occupies a truly remarkable tier in the Zero dual sport product line.
Z-FORCE 75-10X
The 2024 DSR uses the Z-Force 75-10X direct drive motor variant which is found on the award-winning DSR/X and is specially tuned for the rigors of navigating rough terrain. Sharing some of the same architecture as the 75-10 found on Zero street motorcycles, but with completely different internal materials, this motor delivers stump-ripping power under any circumstances. All this along with Zero’s renowned internal permanent magnet, brushless architecture, and a passively air-cooled, compact design delivers class-leading performance and efficiency with virtually no maintenance required.
POWER PIVOT
Sharing the same chassis as the remainder of the Zero Motorcycles dual sport model line, the 2024 DSR features Zero’s proprietary and reinforced concentric motor and swingarm pivot design. This provides optimal architecture to ensure constant drive-belt tension and maximum torque delivery to the rear wheel. A custom-designed, large-bearing swingarm pivot allows ample space for the high-performance motor while allowing a slim chassis waist to enhance rider ergonomics and bike maneuverability either through traffic or through rutted-out back country.
EFFORTLESS CONTROL
The 2024 Zero DSR runs Zero’s latest Cypher III+ operating system and is accompanied by with a suite of standard performance features. Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), including Offroad MSC that is also found on the DSR/X, is equal parts brawn and brains. The DSR is the canvas on which you can paint your masterpiece electric ADV motorcycle. The Zero DSR is an adaptable motorcycle and powertrain combination that navigates diverse road terrain and conditions as easily as it accommodates its rider’s every need.
CYPHER III+
The absolute gold standard for electric motorcycle operating systems, Cypher III+ is the conductor behind an orchestra of instruments propelling the Zero DSR. The Zero DSR is infinitely customizable and comes with the ability to add new Cypher Features through the NextGen app to become everything you want and nothing you don’t. Also, the DSR offers the revolutionary feature of being the only bike to truly grow with your abilities from being an A2 to an A3 licensed machine through a deal-installed Cypher option. This upgrade is possible only thanks to Cypher, and it’s available only if you satisfy all of your local licensing requirements.
ARSENAL OF RIDE MODES
The Zero DSR's arsenal of ride modes allows the rider to customize the bike's performance through Zero’s intuitive NextGen app and dash interface. The DSR navigates the road no matter the conditions with Rain, Eco, Standard, Sport, and Canyon modes pre-loaded along with a virtually infinite number of custom-tuned mode adjustments available. These adjustments can be saved for use during both on and off-road conditions thanks to the included Bosch Offroad MSC.
EFFORTLESS CONNECTION
The Zero DSR is a truly "smart" motorcycle with the Cypher III+ operating system and available over-the-air (OTA) updates thanks to the integrated Cellular Connectivity Module (CCM) running on 4G wireless. Customize the dash, access the NextGen app with standard features, and enjoy limitless possibilities. Futureproof intelligence and unmatched power make the DSR the ultimate ride with seamless connection in every detail.
THE CONNECTED BIKE
The Zero DSR is connected through cellular networks, always transmitting anonymized info to the NextGen app. The app offers access to a host of ride information including current bike status and location that are always available. This connectivity gives the rider the ability to monitor the bike in four main areas: Bike Status & Alerts, Charging, Ride Data Sharing, and OTA System Updates.
ADVANCED APP
Zero’s NextGen app works with the dash and Cypher III+ to create a feature-rich ecosystem with access to new Cypher Features where upgrades can be selected with the tap of a finger. Faster Charging, On-Dash Navigation, and Parking Mode are just a few of the features available for you to choose from. Other features already included for free within the app include ride mode selection and creation, personalized dash options, scheduled and target-based charging, and so much more.
LICENCED TO THRILL: THE NEW ZERO DSR
The new Zero DSR offers a unique proposition for new and experienced riders alike. Designed to meet the latest European A2 licence regulations, it offers all the benefits of Zero’s legendary instant acceleration and magic carpet power delivery to a much wider range of riders – including newly qualified younger riders – with the option to upgrade the power output when your licence allows.
ADAPTABILITY AND UPGRADABILITY
The new Zero DSR brings the stunningly smooth and responsive riding experience delivered by Zero’s patented Z-Force 75-10 to newly qualified riders for the first time. With 170 Nm of torque and a continuous power output rated at 33 kW, the Zero DSR rolls out of the showroom ready to be ridden by A2 licence holders, but can be upgraded to deliver an even more potent 36 kW upon graduation to a full ‘A’ licence. It’s a motorcycle which grows with the rider, meaning there’s no need to trade up when you level up.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS
The new Zero DSR can be ridden by riders aged 19 and over, who have gained an A2 category motorcycle licence.
A2 is an intermediate licence, which allows holders to ride motorcycles with a continuous power output of between 20 and 35kw. Riders have to complete a two-part riding test and, after passing, will be able to ride a standard Zero DSR without restrictions.
After two years of riding with an A2 licence, or at the age of 24, riders can take a further test to upgrade to a full ‘A’ licence which allows motorcycles of unlimited power outputs to be ridden. Upon graduating to an A licence, Zero DSR riders are able to derestrict their motorcycle – unlocking the full performance of the Z-Force 75-10 permanent magnet AC motor without the need to purchase a new motorcycle.
