CBR600RR2024

After seven long years, it's back. After an anxious build-up, the iconic Honda CBR600RR is making a spectacular return to the European market, rekindling the passion for pure road-going sports bikes. This comeback not only marks a significant moment for Honda but also signals the resurgence of the middleweight sports category, which has seen a revival in recent years.

A Legacy Reborn

The CBR600RR comes decorated with an illustrious racing heritage, dominating the FIM World Super Sports championship with victories in multiple years, including an unmatched streak from 2003 to 2008, and further triumphs in 2010, 2012 and 2014. However, the shift in motorcycle enthusiast preferences towards naked and adventure models saw this model disappear from Honda’s European lineup in 2017. Now, as trends have evolved and the demand for high-performance supersport machinery has appeared again, the 600RR is primed for its grand return, and hopefully for good.

Tech-Savvy and Track-Ready

The 2024 Honda CBR600RR comes packed with cutting-edge features inspired by MotoGP, including a formidable 599cc inline four-cylinder engine that delivers a potent 89kW of power at 14,250rpm. Riders will appreciate the inclusion of an assist/slipper clutch and a standard-fit quickshifter, giving them that track-day feel.

Electronics have been a particular focus for Honda, with the CBR600RR incorporating an advanced package that includes Throttle By Wire control for smooth throttle response, 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control, and Rear Lift Control. The bike also offers three default riding modes - Fast Riding, Fun Riding, and Comfortable Riding - alongside two customisable user modes, allowing riders to tailor engine power, engine braking, HSTC, and Wheelie Control to their preferences.

Honda’s Performance Engineering as Precise as Ever

The chassis of the new CBR600RR is a 360-degree upgrade. Honda has implemented a twin-spar aluminium frame, an aluminium swingarm, 41mm Showa Big Piston USD front forks, and a Unit Pro-Link Showa rear shock. Its braking power is formidable, with four-piston radial-mount front callipers, complemented by a Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) for extra stability across varying speeds.

Styling and aerodynamics have not been overlooked either, with the new model boasting the lowest Coefficient of Drag in its class at 0.555 and sculpted winglets to improve stability and turning ability.

Add-On Packs for Customisation

Those looking to personalise their CBR600RR can choose between the Racing Pack, which emphasises the bike's sportiness and racing pedigree, and the Comfort Pack, designed to enhance the supersport experience with practical accessories like a rear seat bag, heated grips, and a USB-C charging socket. What’s more, this bike is available in two colour options: Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, and Grand Prix Red HRC TriColour, Honda’s signature colourway. The choice is all yours.
